Meet the face behind the cards and get to know a little bit about what all will be going on around here!
I have been feeling a pull to create a separate publication1 and to focus on tarot readings, writing about tarot, and other of my more āwooā2 interestsā¦ such as sigils and channelingā¦ and I have now finally gotten the inner go-ahead to follow that pull.
So here we are. Let me introduce you toā¦
(I created that little saturnish Saturn with the āishā in the middle btw. I am quite proud of it!!š)
Itās what I named my Etsy shop and the tarot business that I had going a few years ago.
In December of 2023, I moved from Maine to Florida and decided to put the whole business thing on hold. I deactivated all of my tarot readings listings and physical deck products on Etsy, leaving only my extremely low-maintenance digital downloads still active.
But I do love that name and have my logos just hanging out in my pen driveā¦ so it just felt natural to have this newsletter be called Saturnish.
Alright, I do hear you ask, thoughā¦
Why Saturnish?
I've been asked more than once why I chose this sort of strange name.
Well, if youāve read Surrendering to Gravity at all, you probably know that Iām all about the shadow work and all that sort of stuffā¦
If you also know about astrology, then you know that Saturn is all about learning the hard lessons. I do feel like it gets a bad rep as a heartless and heavy taskmaster, and donāt see it quite that way.
I have actually always felt a deep draw to the planet Saturnā¦ long before I was ever into astrologyā¦ ever since I was childā¦ it was and has always been my favorite planet.
However, due to the heavy nature of how most people see itā¦ and also due to the fact that it does bring this serious aspect that can truly be heavy and punishing if you donāt embrace itā¦ I wanted to inject a bit of lightnessā¦
Because, well, thatās also my styleā¦ I face the heavy stuff, but I stay in touch with the humor, lightness, and underlying OK-ness of life.
Oh yeah, Iām also very much a Capricorn (which is ruled by Saturn)ā¦ and lordy lordy donāt I have a shit-ton of Cappy in my chart.
So itās like I embody that Saturn energyā¦ but in my own way.

I will be upfront and let you know that I am not going to try to follow a posting schedule or to have a posting day.
The readings will come through as they come through; I DO NOT want to force anything.
I would like to think that I will do at the very least one monthly reading that you can count on receiving, butā¦ let me be honestā¦ I promise nothing. (For those who know Human Design: I have a completely open will center and am fully embracing that I am not designed to have consistent will power or the ability make these sorts of will-power related promises. And let me tell youā¦ it is SO freeing to let go of that kind of conditioning!!)
If all goes well and this begins to grow in a way that sustains and supports my energy, I may consider creating some sort of paid subscriptionā¦ probably with special readings and access to more personalized readings with meā¦ something like thatā¦ we shall see what happens and how this evolves.

Hi! Iām Natalie and I read tarot. I started readingā¦ uhhhmmmā¦ well, 13 years ago at this point (at the time I write this intro). Wow, I canāt believe itās been that long!! 2012. Crazy that 2012 was 13 years agoā¦ feels like just the other day it was 2001 and I was graduating high school. And now Iām 42. Time has been doing funny things. But oh. I digressā¦
Yeahā¦ yeah. Tarot. Been reading since 2012. Right, that was the track I was onā¦
I learned to read using the Thoth Tarot. Something I have seen others saying one should not doā¦ lolā¦ I do have a way of naturally doing things others say one should not do š (Thatās my heretical 5th line showing. Human Design stuff, if you know you know.)
Not a psychic.
Ever seen The Good Place?! Think of Janet and how she would always say, āNot a girl.ā or āNot a robot.ā And say the above heading in that way and in her voice, k?! Because that is what I hear as Iām writing it š¤£
I do not consider myself to be a psychic. I have icky baggage around that word. Think shady snake-oil scammers that use psychological tricks to extort money from their unsuspecting victims *ahem* clients.
I know, I know. Many reputable readers and mediums do use that word to describe themselves, and I donāt have a problem with them using it for themselves. If it floats their boats, good for them. This is a me with myself sort of thing.
But alsoā¦
My readings do not predict what will happen; they help you understand where you are and how to move forward to create the best possible outcome. They help you orient yourself in the present so that you can create the future.
Itās all about the shadow work with me.
What do you need to face?
What are you not seeing right now?
How can you get out of your own way?
That sort of thing.
You will get no fortune telling here.
And, again. I have absolutely nothing against it or the principle of it. If thatās what someone sees when they read the cards, I actually think itās pretty cool. Itās just not my skill set.
I see the depths of your present and yes, sometimes the potential INNER future that might unfold if you do the work in the present (or not!)
If you come and ask me, āWill he/she/they come back to me?ā Iām not even going to get an inkling of that. I will see, oh, why you are so hung on him/her/them, what you REALLY want underneath that desire, the ways in which you contributed to creating your current situation, and what you might do to face the shadows that keep you stuck feeling miserable about him/her/them. Annnnnnnd the work you need to do to be able to hold space for the love you desire and deserve. But I most likely cannot tell you if HE/SHE/THEY will be that love.

I sort of feel like Iām ending this a bit abruptly while also forgetting to mention Things I Should Mention right now, but, well, I have forgotten whether there is anything or notā¦ so I suppose this is a going to have to be a good place to leave it for now. š

LOLā¦ I suppose the degree or woo-ness is subjective. Iām sure there are those who would think Human Design is quite woo itself and that the distinction I am making is rather arbitrary. But, to me, there is a definite distinction on the amount of woo going on here. Itās probably only important to me, anyway haha.
